(WALA) - It has become a sight for sore eyes for Crimson Tide fans. Johnny Football running wild against Alabama's defense, jumping out to a 20 to nothing first quarter lead.
Though the Tide would claw back later in the game, Manziel remained a mystery for Alabama. So the question remains: have they solved it coming into Saturday?
"The guy's gonna make plays, now, and he's a good player. Um, and I think what you try to do, though, is don't allow him to make plays because of what you did incorrectly on defense. And that's where the discipline part comes in," said Alabama head coach Nick Saban.
"He can stay in the pocket a lot, you know. And uh, he has great wide receivers who know how to get open. You know, if you take your eyes off 'em, they'll pop out of the ground on you and be somewhere else when you didn't even know where they're at. And you know, he catches the ball so he has great wide receivers and he's a great quarterback," said Tide defensive back HaHa Clinton-Dix.
The Aggies are superior, skilled players on the offense, epecially at Kyle Field in College Station. Their defense may be equally scary.
"They're a good defense and they do a really good job of, you know, getting to the ball and holding guys up with the football, and then other guys coming in, trying to strip it. Uh, and making plays that way. So, um, you know, taking care of the football is gonna be the number one thing for us, and we're going to have to do a very good job of that," said Tide quarterback AJ McCarron.
So the Tide needs to play fundamental football, or they could very well come undone for the second year in a row.
