MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The 2013 Maxwell and Chuck Bednarik Awards semifinalist were announced Tuesday, October 29.
University of Alabama student-athletes, AJ McCarron and C.J. Mosley were both chosen as Semifinalist.
AJ McCarron was named a semifinalist for the Maxwell award, which is given to the Collegiate Player of the Year. This is the second year that McCarron has been selected as a semifinalist. He was also selected in 2012.
C.J. Mosley was selected as a Chuck Bednarik semifinalist. The Chuck Bednarik Award is given to the most Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year.
McCarron, Senior QB, has 1862 total yards, 16 TD's and 3 INT, on the year. Mosley, Senior LB, has a recorded 59 tackles this year.
Winners for both the Maxwell and Chuck Bednarik Awards will be announced during the Home Depot College Football Awards Show on December 12, 2013.
