NEW ORLEANS, La. (WALA) - Quarterback Ross Metheny accounted for four total touchdowns and 365 yards of offense, leading the South Alabama Jaguars (1-1) over Tulane (1-1) 41-39 Saturday afternoon in the Superdome.
Metheny connected for two passing touchdowns on the day and finished with 290 yards through the air. On the ground, he rushed for 75 yards- leading the team- and scored twice.
His 35-yard scamper in the first quarter was the game's first touchdown, putting the Jags ahead 7-0.
From there, South only trailed once in the game, surrendering a third quarter lead on a 40-yard Green Wave touchdown pass.
Next, South Alabama will face Western Kentucky (1-1) Saturday, September 14 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
