Chasity Byrd

FOX10's Chasity Byrd plays many roles at the station. Her main role is being a meteorologist on the FOX10 News StormTracker team. Chasity has been on-air and in the field during many severe and tropical weather situations. She considers weather her passion and likes being there for her viewers when weather threatens.

Currently she serves as the meteorologist for FOX10 News at 4 p.m.

Chasity, along with Meteorologist Matt Barrentine and Meteorologist Michael White, won a Suncoast Emmy for their coverage of the Christmas Day tornado in 2012.

Another role Chasity plays at the station is host of Fox10’s hyper-local show Studio10. She along with cohost Joe Emer pack a one-hour show with entertainment headlines, local headlines, cooking segments, live music, and interviews about upcoming events on the Gulf Coast. You can catch Studio10 Monday through Friday starting at 9am.

Chasity also has experience as an anchor and general assignment reporter. You may have seen her coverage of the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, the Billings murders in the Florida Panhandle, as well as city and county happenings from across our area.

Chasity won an Edward R. Murrow Regional Award for Best Feature Story in 2015.

For the same story, Chasity was also honored to get a 2015 Alabama Broadcasters Association Best in Broadcasting – Best Feature Story award.

Chasity loves reporting live on the scene and works hard to get news exclusively for FOX10.

Chasity has a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Mississippi State University. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Alabama in Communication with a minor in Meteorology. She grew up in Baldwin County, but now calls Mobile home.

Chasity regularly judges and emcee's events including pageants, scholarship events and fundraisers. She loves to visit classrooms and schools talking to kids about the importance of staying in school and following their dreams.
