Tuesday, 24-year-old, Shanika S. Minor became the 509th fugitive, and 10th woman, to be added to the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted Fugitives” list.

Minor, who was born in Mississippi, is wanted for murdering a woman who was nine months pregnant in Milwaukee, Wis. on March 5, 2016.

According to the FBI, approximately one week prior, Minor’s mother informed her daughter that the neighbor was playing loud music at an unreasonable hour. They say Minor confronted the neighbor about the music and the situation escalated, leaving Minor the impression that the neighbor was disrespecting her family.

On the day before the shooting, authorities say Minor instigated an argument with that same neighbor. They say Minor confronted the woman on the sidewalk next to her home, brandishing a semi-automatic firearm and repeatedly challenged the woman to fight. Officials say Minor's mother, ran to the scene and stopped her daughter from harming the expectant woman. Authorities say Minor fired a round from her firearm into the air before leaving the scene.

Investigators say before dawn the next morning Minor gained entry into the common hallway of the duplex and shot the woman in the chest.  The victim died immediately and the unborn child, which was due within a week, died before emergency medical personnel arrived.

“The brutal murder of a mother and her unborn child is reprehensible,” said Robert Shields, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Milwaukee Division.  “The FBI will provide all of our available resources to assist the Milwaukee Police Department in locating and apprehending this violent fugitive, Shanika S. Minor, to include placing her on the FBI’s ‘Ten Most Wanted Fugitives’ list.”   “Given that Minor’s alleged crime involved the use of a firearm, she should be considered armed and extremely dangerous,” said SAC Shields.

Minor has ties to several states including Georgia, Mississippi, Texas, Tennessee, Ohio, Missouri and Illinois and should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.  The FBI is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading directly to her arrest.
