MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) - Tom Brady was intercepted twice by Xavien Howard and held without a third-down conversion, and the Miami Dolphins snapped the New England Patriots' eight-game winning streak with a surprising 27-20 victory. The Dolphins were 11-point underdogs at home, but they kept the Patriots from clinching their ninth consecutive AFC East title.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) - It was a rough night for Tom Brady, and surprisingly that isn't uncommon when he comes to Miami. He's now 7-9 in 16 appearances when coming to the Dolphins' home field. Brady was intercepted twice, probably should have had at least one other pass picked off, and the Patriots lost to the Dolphins 27-20 _ denying New England a chance to clinch the AFC East.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) - No matter how much their fans imagined Giancarlo Stanton bashing balls over the Green Monster, the Boston Red Sox never came close to getting the NL MVP. But no one expects the Red Sox to stand still after seeing the slugger join the dreaded New York Yankees. The Red Sox say they're in the market for someone to hit in the middle of their order, and there's talk that free agents J.D. Martinez or Eric Hosmer might be a good fit.

MIAMI (AP) - Derek Jeter says when his ownership group took over the Miami Marlins in October, he thought Giancarlo Stanton would be with the team in 2018. Stanton says Marlins officials threatened to keep him for the rest of his career. In the end, Miami dealt the National League MVP to the New York Yankees.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - The Jacksonville Jaguars have won six of their last seven games. Quarterback Blake Bortles has played the best football of his NFL career in recent weeks. Now, the Jaguars (9-4) are poised for a December push that likely will result in the franchise's first postseason berth since 2008. Rookie running back Leonard Fournette summed it up best by saying, "This is not the old Jaguars team."

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) - Giancarlo Stanton has joined Aaron Judge as the Yankees' Towers of Power. Stanton's trade from the Marlins for second baseman Starlin Castro and a pair of minor leaguers was finalized. Stanton and Judge become only the 4th pair of reigning home run champions on same big league team, a tantalizing duo for new manager Aaron Boone to write on his lineup card.

DETROIT (AP) - Mike Matheson scored his first goal of the season and the Florida Panthers won in overtime for the first time this season, taking a 2-1 decision from the Detroit Red Wings.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) - Major League Baseball umpire Dale Scott tells The Associated Press that he's retiring rather than risk another concussion. The 58-year-old Scott missed most of this season after sustaining his fourth concussion in five years when he was hit in the mask by a foul ball in April. Scott was a big league umpire for more than three decades and worked three World Series, three All-Star Games and 91 postseason games.
