LOXLEY, AL (WALA) -

A single-vehicle crash at 4:15 a.m. Saturday claimed the life of a Loxley woman, according to Alabama State Troopers.

Kayla Marie Weaver, 23, was killed when the 2004 Hyundai Sonata she was driving left the roadway, overturned and struck a tree, said Senior Trooper Reginal King.

Weaver was pronounced dead at the scene, King said.

He said the crash occurred on U.S. 90 near the 50 mile marker, approximately two miles west of Loxley.

Although the circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation, speed is believed to be a factor, he said.

Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
