ROBERTSDALE, AL (WALA) -

Baldwin County Commissioners are offering up the Baldwin County Coliseum in Robertsdale as a possible shelter for Harvey victims.

The coliseum is purpose-built to be a shelter and is ready to house as many as 1900 people at anytime during an emergency.

County Commissioner Chris Elliott said, "We've been through these situations here ourselves along the Gulf Coast, these are our neighbors and we sympathize with them. We know what they're going through. We want to make sure we're compassionate and offer our resources and our help. "

Commissioners are now contacting Texas officials to see if the coliseum will be needed.
