Man dies after rescue from collapsed trench at DIP nursery

MOBILE, AL (WALA) -

A man who was rescued after a trench collapse at a nursery in Mobile Monday has died, according to an official with the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

OSHA "is conducting this incident as a fatality inspection," the official told FOX10 News on Tuesday.

The man was rescued Tuesday following a trench collapse at Flowerwood Nursery located at 6470 Dauphin Island Parkway.

Several Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were on the scene Monday, along with heavy extraction equipment.
