UPDATE: Mobile school board member's son is one of the victims of Gulfwood homicides

MOBILE, AL (WALA) -

UPDATE:  FOX10 News has learned the son of Dr. Reginald Crenshaw, a Mobile County Public School board member, was one of two victims in a fatal shooting on Gulfwood Drive in Mobile.  School officials say the victim's name is Reginald Crenshaw, Jr..  "School officials are concerned for Dr. Crenshaw and his family at this very sad time," said an official with the Mobile County School system.  FOX10 News will continue to update this story when more information becomes available.

New information on a shocking crime in Mobile early Tuesday morning that has a neighborhood looking for answers.

Mobile Police say two men were found shot to death in a home on Gulfwood Drive East off Spring Hill Avenue near I -65.

Public Safety Director James Barber says it appeared there were multiple shooters, and that the shooting is not random. Police say those shooters fired into the home more than ten times. Barber says it appears the crime was an ambush.

"This was a very quick, ambush style, home invasion...it appears to be very well thought out, planned out, and possibly the victims and shooters knew each other, which is often times the case."

Police were on the scene in the early morning for more than eight hours investigating, finding at least a dozen shell casings inside and outside the home. 

One neighbor who didn't want to be identified tells FOX10 News that he was woken up by gun shots Monday night.

"From my living room I heard about five or six rapid fire gun shots...I yelled to my children to hit the floor, you know, get down, get down."

He says all day Tuesday, he was on high alert. 

"I'm feeling anxious, feeling you know, there's somebody out there responsible for this that, you know, has not been caught yet."

Ashley Kalhagen lives about a block away and says her family heard three gunshots.

Kalhagen said, "My daughter heard them at our house. She said she heard them at 12:30."

Another witness says she heard about five gunshots.

Neighbors we talked to say they're surprised. 

One said, "Nothing like that has ever happened that i know of." 

Kalhagen said, "A shooting literally one street down and has the same address as my house. I was like 'Wow' "    

A man who also didn't want to be on camera says he's felt secure living in the neighborhood, until now.

He said, "I grew up behind St. Ignatius Church, so it's kind of scary because you get a false sense of, I guess, being safe, but that's not something you'd think you would find around here."

We're told police have identified the victims but have not released their names. Investigators have also given no information about possible suspects.
