MOBILE COUNTY, AL (WALA) -

A 21-year-old man has been arrested following a carjacking incident early Tuesday morning, according to the Mobile Police Department.

Timothy Washington is charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree theft of property, said MPD Public Affairs Officer Charlette Solis.

Solis said that at about 2 a.m. police responded to the 600 block of Bond Street in reference to a robbery. The victim stated that while she was driving the suspect home he asked if she could make a couple of stops and she did, Solis said.

She then asked him where he lived, and the suspect took the victim to a dead end street, Solis said.

When she turned on the car light, the suspect pointed a handgun at her, which is when she jumped out of the vehicle and ran. The suspect stole her car and property, Solis said.
