SATSUMA, AL (WALA) -

Community members are coming together to help a young man who recently lost his mother to breast cancer.

Peyton Thomas is a football player for Satsuma High School.  His mother, Lawanda Thomas, died this week after a four year battle with the disease.

The mothers of other players say Lawanda a big Gator football fan and loved watching her son play.

The Gator moms banned together to help Peyton's family with funeral expenses. A gofundme page was created to help raise money. They're hoping to raise $6,300 dollars.
