MOBILE, AL (WALA) -

The teenager who authorities say shot a woman in the face during an attempted carjacking has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

A sentencing hearing was held today for  Michael Williams who was convicted of shooting Maria Williamson in the face in June of 2015.

Investigators say Williamson was at a stop light when a group of teens tried to carjack her. A bullet struck her in the face. She survived but lost an eye.

Williams, who was 15 at the time of the shooting, entered a blind plea to an attempted murder charge back in May.
