Mobile Police have released the identity of a teen homicide victim in Toulminville.

Police say they responded to the 1900 block of Eoline Street at approximately 3:53 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8 where they found the body of 19-year-old Roderick Conner deceased inside a residence. Officials say the victim's younger brother called authorities.

The crime took place a block away from LeFlore High School.

"One of the younger brothers came home and observed his brother laying on the floor in a pool of blood... We were notified shortly thereafter," said Chief Lawrence Battiste.

Chief Battiste would not confirm how the victim died and said they're still looking for possible witnesses.

"It happened inside and behind closed doors. So the normal witnesses that you would expect to see in situations like this... We don't have that information available right now," said Battiste.

Detectives are going door to door to get a lead on a suspect and motive. Nextdoor neighbor Angelia Hill came home to the lights and crime tape.

"I just couldn't believe it. I asked everybody what happened, what happened??? I got different stories ... I got gunshot stories. I was particularly concerned about which boy it was... I kind of figured it was the one who was staying at home," said Hill.

Hilll says the victim just graduated from LeFlore High School last year. She believes police will find who did this.

"I feel fairly confident once they get access to his social media and his phone that they are going to see because every time I would see him he would be on his phone. So I'm pretty certain that whoever it is -- assuming it is somebody -- that it's going to show up in his social media or on the phone," said Hill.

Neighbors told FOX10 News that they did not hear gunshots around the time the body was discovered.

This is the 40th homicide Mobile Police have investigated this year.

Police are asking for the public's help. If you know anything -- give them a call.
