Christmas Jubilee features more than 100 merchants

MOBILE, AL (WALA) -

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas:  at least at the Mobile Convention Center.

The 33rd annual Christmas Jubilee kicked off Wednesday.

More than 100 merchants from around the country are selling clothes, toys and other gifts for three days.

It's the biggest fundraiser for the Junior League of Mobile and benefits a number of local organizations.

Junior League President Amy Carpenter said, "And a lot of agencies we work with are groups like St. Mary's Home, the Joseph Project, Feeding the Gulf Coast, where we pack over 151 backpacks for children that have good insecurity over the weekend.  We work with Distinguished Young Women, so, you're familiar with a lot of these agencies, but the Junior League of Mobile supports them financially and with our volunteer hours. "

The Christmas Jubilee is open Thursday until 8 pm and continues Friday and Saturday.
