MOBILE, AL (WALA) -

The Baldwin County Young Republicans say they will support Roy Moore in the upcoming Senate election. They're echoing President Trump's statement about Moore today, saying Alabama can't afford to have a liberal in the Senate seat.

Tonight the Young Republicans met to discuss their decision. In a unanimous vote, the group decided to extend their support to Moore only if no further evidence proving the accusations true surfaces. Unlike the Young Republican Federation of Alabama, they're siding with Moore.

"We are going to stand behind the judge but we are subject to change that if sufficient evidence comes up proving otherwise but for the most part I'm going to stand behind the judge because he is the Republican nominee and it's absolutely imperative that we make sure that we defeat a progressive Democrat trying to take to see here in Alabama," said Isaiah Pyritz, Chairman of Baldwin County Young Republicans.

The group says it will be keeping a close eye on the race over the next few weeks.
