EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) - Jalen Henry poured in a season-high 26 points, including two free throws with three seconds left in the game, and SIU Edwardsville rallied to beat South Alabama 76-75. Henry added 12 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots for the Cougars (3-6). Henry also nailed a 3-pointer with 43 seconds left that pulled SIU-Edwardsville even at 74. Dederick Lee hit 1 of 2 free throws to put the Jaguars (5-5) up 75-74.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Dominic Magee scored 27 points, Tyree Griffin added a career-high 23 with five assists, and Southern Miss beat Troy 89-71 on Sunday after winning the turnover battle for the ninth time this season. Troy's Wesley Person scored 20 points with four 3-pointers to become the first player in school history to make 300 career 3-pointers.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Jrue Holiday scored 19 of his 34 points in the fourth quarter and the New Orleans Pelicans overcame an eight-point deficit in the final period to beat the short-handed Philadelphia 76ers 131-124 on Sunday night. Anthony Davis added 29 points and DeMarcus Cousins 23 for New Orleans, which looked out-of-synch in the third quarter and in danger of dropping a second straight at home before Holiday took over.
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Duop Reath scored a career-high 30 points and Tremont Waters added 20 as LSU beat UNC Wilmington 97-84 on Sunday. Reath, who added five rebounds, made 13 of 17 from the field in 27 minutes 27 minutes. Waters added 10 assists and nine rebounds while making 7 of 8 from the free-throw line. Skylar Mays had 14 points on five-of-six shooting and Wayde Sims scored 11 for LSU (5-2).
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The Philadelphia 76ers have decided to sit out Joel Embiid against the Pelicans on Sunday night because of stiffness in the 7-foot center's back. Embiid was expected to play in New Orleans after sitting out Saturday night's loss to Cleveland to rest his surgically repaired knee. Embiid, who has averaged 23.5 points and 11.1 rebounds in 21 games, had offseason surgery for a torn meniscus in his left knee and the Sixers have been limiting his playing time, including not playing him on back-to-back nights.
AMES, Iowa (AP) - Donovan Jackson scored 25 points, including a career-high seven 3s, Cameron Lard had 15 points with 11 rebounds and Iowa State held off Alcorn State 78-58 on Sunday for its seventh straight win. Lindell Wigginton scored 16 points for the Cyclones (7-2), who were forced to rally from an early 9-point deficit against arguably the worst team on their schedule.
