Swiger resigns from Baldwin County School Board

BALDWIN COUNTY, AL (WALA) -

Baldwin County School Board Member Angie Swiger resigned Tuesday. 

Swiger represented the areas of Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Elberta and Bon Secour. Recently, she expressed interest in serving on the City of Gulf Shores School Board, but was not selected

In a statement, Superintendent Eddie Tyler said, "We greatly appreciate Mrs. Swiger's service to the children and employees of Baldwin County Public Schools. She has a servant's heart and a passion for public education. We wish her all the best and again, we're very grateful for her service."

Baldwin County Public Schools has 30 days to appoint a replacement to the position to complete Swiger's remaining term which ends in 2020.
