SEMMES, AL (WALA) -

Third person dies in wreck

A third person has died following a fiery crash. Gwinnie Eleanor Hudgens Ezell, 74, succumbed to her injuries Sunday night at USA Medical Center.

The crash happened Friday night on Alabama Highway 158 near Newburn Road in Semmes. Investigators say Eleanor Ezell was transported to USA along with another passenger after the crash.

People who knew Ezell say she was a sweet, friendly lady who made everyone feel comfortable. She's also a retired employee of Wesco Gas and Welding Supply Company.

Investigators say Ezell was traveling with two passengers at the time of the crash. Family friends say they were her parents. Ezell's father, 94-year-old John Hudgens, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her mother 93-year-old Kathryn Hudgens is still in the hospital and is expected to recover.

Family thinks they know unidentified victim whose body was burned

While we were on the scene of the accident, a father and daughter came out to look through the rubble.

"Her phone, on Saturday it was ringing. It went through but like Sunday it was just cut off," said 11-year-old Lana Davis.

Lana along with her father tells FOX10 News her family believes her mother, Ashley Davis, is the victim who has yet to be identified. Investigators say they cannot confirm Davis died in the wreck, but family members are confident it's her. They say she was driving her son's truck when the crash happened, and that's how they know.

"It's the only things that's really like left, and it's the only thing that really made it out, and it says Satsuma High School, and that's how we know that it's my brother's truck," Lana said. "We're all kind of like sad though. We were not expecting this to happen at all."

Davis and her father say they're planning a memorial service for Ashley Davis at the end of this week.
