THEODORE, AL (WALA) -

Mobile Police arrested three men after a shooting in Theodore.

Investigators said the victim pulled into the Waffle House on Highway 90 at Kooiman Road around 1 a.m. Tuesday. He told police that he was on Jones Road attempting to buy drugs when a man tried to steal his car and his wallet. The victim said he was shot in the leg as he drove away.

Investigators said the vehicle used in that crime was located and led to the arrest of Johnathan Lavender, 29, Ryan Tandy-Ross, 22, and Roderick Ward Jr., 23.

Lavender was charged with firing into an occupied vehicle, robbery, assault, possession of a firearm with altered ID, and illegal possession of a firearm.

Tandy-Ross was charged with firing into an occupied vehicle, robbery, assault, possession of a firearm with altered ID, and illegal possession of a firearm. At the time of the shooting, Tandy-Ross was wanted on a sexual abuse charge. Police said he sexually assaulted a woman at Knollwood Apartments in November. At the time of both of those incidents, Tandy-Ross was out on bond for several vehicle burglary charges from July.

Ward was charged with illegal possession of a firearm.
