MOBILE, AL (WALA) -

Police are now looking for two people of interest in the investigation of the shooting that took the life of 89-year-old John Higby. The two people were caught on surveillance video walking through an apartment complex. Mobile Police wants to make it clear that these two people are not suspects, they just want to talk to them for now.

MPD has its eyes out and ears open for these two people. The two people are seen walking through the courtyard of an apartment complex. Both people are wanted by police for questioning about Wednesday's shooting in the parking lot of Dauphin Square Shopping Center. Assistant Chief Clay Godwin says Higby was gunned down during an altercation Wednesday afternoon.

Since this incident happened in plain view, police believe someone knows the information they need to solve this murder.

"It is a concern to the public, but it is very public and there's a lot of evidence we can collect both physical evidence and surveillance evidence. So when it happens in the public we seem to be able to move faster on these cases because of the abundance of evidence we're able to uncover man," said Assistant Chief Godwin.

With the public rattled by this crime, MPD urges caution.

"The public needs not to be alarmed about anything happening like this in the public. You just need to be more vigilant. it's the shopping season, it's the holiday season," he said.

If you recognize the two people in the video, call Mobile Police.
