ORANGE BEACH, AL (WALA) -

With some areas of Orange Beach suffering power outages overnight Monday, the city has opened the Orange Beach Community Center as a shelter for residents.

According to Baldwin EMC spokesperson Mark Ingram,  power is being restored slowly in an effort not to overload the system and cause another break. He went on to say that, of course, in doing it this way, it will take a little longer before the entire area is back up completely.

FOX10 News will continue to update this story as information becomes available.
