Prichard Police respond to reported shooting on North Thomas Avenue

PRICHARD, AL (WALA) -

The Prichard Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened in broad daylight Wednesday. Police responded to North Thomas Avenue around noon after reports of a shooting. 

According to Prichard Police the shooting happened because of an altercation between two men. Authorities said the two men knew each other and the altercation involved a woman. 

Police said one of the men was approaching the house and the other fired several shots at him. The gunman hit the other man in the leg. Police said he was taken to the hospital. 

Prichard authorities said the injuries are non-life threatening. No word yet on whether or not the suspect is in custody.
