Mobile man dies in Gautier from gunshot wound

GAUTIER, MISS -

A Mobile man died from injures he sustained from a gunshot wound Monday, January 1 in Gautier.

According to Gautier Police, 30-year-old Harold Edwards and 22-year-old Jerome Jackson were both shot by 40-year-old Willie Campbell Jr. following an argument.

Police say Edwards and Jackson entered the property of Campbell and an argument began between the three which resulted in Edwards and Jackson receiving a single gunshot wound each.

According to officials, both men were transported to Singing River Hospital where Edwards succumbed to his injury. Jackson received surgery and is currently in stable condition. 

Campbell was taken into custody at his residence and has been charged with aggravated assault and manslaughter. A bond has been set at $10,000 for aggravated assault and $30,000 for manslaughter.
