An area man was charged with menacing/reckless endangerment on Tuesday, January 9 after officials say he shot himself in the hand during an argument while trying to shoot at someone else.
Officials say police responded to the 7100 block of Smith Street in reference to one shot. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the male subject had shot himself in the hand during an argument while he was trying to shoot at the victim.

Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle
On Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at approximately 7:39 a.m. police responded to a vehicle burglary at Pine Bend Apartments, 3700 Carlyle Close. An unknown subject broke a car window out and took the victim’s property.
On Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at approximately 12:40 p.m. a male subject approached police in the area of Tunstall Street and Chestnut Street. He told police he was being followed and that he was taking rims to the scrap yard. The witness following him told police she heard a burglar alarm go off at Duke’s Garage and Body Shop, 600 St. Anthony Street, and saw the subject walking with two rims. The victim confirmed the rims were stolen from him. Julius Bradley, 34, was arrested.
On Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at approximately 8:06 police responded to Speed Stop, 2909 Springhill Avenue, in reference to an individual robbery. The victim stated three female subjects pulled her out the vehicle, punched and kicked her. They then took her wallet and fled.
Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling
On Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at approximately 8 p.m. police responded to the 7600 block of Havenwood Drive in reference to unknown persons firing shots into the victim’s residence while he and his family were inside. The victim stated he heard five fired shots. There were no injuries reported.
On Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at approximately 3:40 a.m. police responded to Lake View Apartments, 6650 Cottage Hill Road, for a report of some type of power saw noise coming from one of the vehicles parked outside of an apartment and a small black vehicle circling around. Officers started pursuing the vehicle but it failed to stop. The driver lost control and struck a tree on Grelot Road. During search of the vehicle, officers found several catalytic converters and burglar tools including power saws inside the vehicle. Cornet Beard, 42, and Kwasi McMillian, 43, were arrested.
