MOBILE, AL (WALA) -
The felony murder charge against Murphy High School student Taylor Law was dismissed by a Mobile County District Court judge, according to court records Friday.
Law was charged after Ryland Kidd allegedly shot and killed Justin Edwards in November at a shopping center parking lot at Airport Boulevard and Montlinmar Drive.
Judge Joe Basenberg ruled that there was no evidence presented at a preliminary hearing to show that Taylor Law had participated in the crime.
Earlier, Basenberg found that there was sufficient evidence to refer Kidd to the grand jury.
At the preliminary hearing Wednesday, a Mobile Police detective testified Kidd told him he shot Edwards because Edwards had stolen his gun, and that Edwards pulled a gun on Kidd and cocked it before Kidd shot and killed Edwards.
