MOBILE, AL (WALA) -
Some Mardi Gras parades rolled in the rain Saturday, but others around the region were delayed or canceled.
The Mystics of Time parade that had been planned for downtown Mobile Saturday evening was postponed until 8:30 Monday night. The decision was made Saturday afternoon, a short time after the Floral Parade, Knights of Mobile, Mobile Mystical Ladies and Order of Angels moved through a soggy Route A for a festive group of drenched revelers.
In Baldwin County, the Krewe of Mullet Mates parade that had been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday was canceled.
Also canceled were the Children of the World parade in Fairhope and the parade in Bay Minette.
In Daphne, the Shadow Barons announced they would start their Saturday night parade a half-hour earlier than planned to try to beat the wet weather. The Shadow Barons are now set to roll at 6:15 p.m.
In Orange Beach, due to the weather forecast the Mystics of Pleasure Mardi Gras parade was canceled for Saturday night. The Mystics' floats will now instead join the City of Orange Beach's 2 p.m. Fat Tuesday parade.
