After a rainy Mardi Gras weekend with less than expected attendance, the crowds grew for today's Lundi Gras celebrations. FOX10 caught up with revelers celebrating the day before Fat Tuesday.
After leaving the mythical "Island of Joy" King Felix III and his royal court made their morning debut to a welcoming crowd of people.
Parker Shearer said, "I am loving it, it's not every day you get this kind of attention, and I am soaking it as much as I can."
Mardi Gras Queen, Lucy Mostellar added, "We're dressed up in suits and heels and just having an awesome time. It's so great."
The morning's event was just the kick-off to a very busy Monday. Hundreds of people lined the streets for the Floral parade embracing the cold.
One parade-goer told us, "I am freezing yes, but she is nice and warm." Despite the chilly start, it didn't stop the good times from rolling.
"It wouldn't be Mardi Gras unless we were wet or cold at least one day," a parade-goer told FOX10.
