JACKSON, AL (WALA) -

After Saturday night's storms, the Clarke County Emergency Management Agency has issued a boil water notice.

The agency said customers of the Jackson Water and Sewer and customers of water systems that buy their water from Jackson Water and Sewer are under the notice.

According to officials, water should be boiled for 10 minutes and then left standing for 30 minutes before it is used. If you are unable to boil the water, add 8 drops of bleach per gallon prior to use. The EMA said this is for cooking and drinking only, not bathing.

Anyone with questions should call Jackson Water and Sewer at (251) 246-2900 or the city of Jackson at (251) 246-2461.
