MPD asks for help identifying man wanted for questioning after assault

MOBILE, AL (WALA) -

The Mobile Police Department is asking for the public's help with identifying a man wanted for questioning in connection to an assault.

Police say the assault occurred last week in the 5300 block of Overlook Road. The man is pictured in the accompanying image from a store security camera.

According to police, on Wednesday, May 9, at approximately 11:30 a.m., officers responded to Overlook Road in reference to an assault complaint. The victim stated he was walking when an unknown subject asked him what he was looking for. The victim then stated the subject told him he was going to mess him up, pulled a gun and fired multiple shots.

Police said the victim was struck once in the left foot. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
