A Fairhope volunteer firefighter is under arrest.

Authorities say he tried to meet a 14 year old girl for sex.

The sheriff's office in Walton County, Florida, arrested 21 year old Aaron Green of Daphne Thursday night.

Friday morning, the chief of the Fairhope Fire Department announced disciplinary action against Green.

Fairhope Fire Chief Chris Ellis held a news conference with members of the department's board of directors to talk about Aaron Green.

Ellis said, "Based on the charges against Mr. Green, he was immediately suspended from any and all fire department activities.  Should Mr. Green be found guilty of those charges, he will be immediately dismissed."

The Walton County Sheriff's Office said Green was in Panama City working as a maintenance technician and in a local chat room asking girls to model for him in doll clothing.

The sheriff's office said the following conversation took place:

UNDERCOVER INVESTIGATOR: "I think you may want someone older than me, lol."

GREEN: "How old are you?"

GREEN: "That's perfect."

Ellis said he was extremely surprised and extremely disappointed by the arrest.

He said, "Fairhope Volunteer Fire department has always taken pride in maintaining  the highest ethical standards, and this type of behavior will not be tolerated."

Ellis said the department does do background checks, and nothing criminal turned up on Green.

He also said Green has been with the department for three years.

Ellis said, "He is a good person based on what we worked with. He attended training, he became a certified firefighter."

Green is charged with traveling to meet a minor for sex, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and using a two way communication device in the commission of a felony.

Walton County Sheriff's Investigators said Green had traveled to a park in DeFuniak Springs where he was met by deputies.
