Vandals cause $20,000 in damage to Baldwin County school buses

BALDWIN COUNTY, AL (WALA) -

Baldwin County Public schools said vandals have caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to school buses.

According to spokesperson Terry Wilhite, 49 bus windows were shot with what appears to be a BB or pellet gun. This happened over the summer at the bus lot in Summerdale.

The school system says it costs $400 to replace a window. That adds up to nearly $20,000 in repairs.

Wilhite said all of the buses will be ready for students on the first day of school, Wednesday, August 15.

The school system now has video surveillance at its bus yards.
