X-Factor Season 2 winner Tate Stevens considers himself a true country artist with a diverse style. Tate says he know more than 1,200 country songs, and is about to release his own album on April 23.
The self-titled album is a collection of eleven songs Tate says he's really proud of, a mix of modern country with a traditional feel. The album includes three songs that were co-written by Tate, and Tate's debut single, "Power of a Love Song."
There are two videos to watch. One is the interview, the other is Tate performing "Power of a Love Song."
The Missouri native says he was drawn to the stage as a young child, and performed with his father when he was only four years old. After teaching himself to play acoustic guitar, Tate says he discovered his real passion for performing.
After high school, Tate toured with his award-winning band, the Dixie Cadillacs. They opened for country stars including Brooks and Dunn, Dwight Yoakam and Patty Loveless. In 2008 he formed the Tate Stevens Band, and spent weekends touring the Midwest.
