The inaugural Last Friday Art Night takes place tomorrow night (September 27, 2013) on Dauphin Island.
The big night will feature art demonstrations, shopping, music by the Brett LaGrave Band, and refreshments. Also, this is the last chance to see the John Prince Art Exhibit before it moves on to another location. For a complete list of venues and participants see below:

Artists Frank Ledbetter and Ainsley McNeely joined us on Studio10 to talk about the event.
–Frank is a local metal sculptor with many public art sculptures in this area and throughout the south. He is self-taught and owns and operates a gallery at 3420 Fowl River Road in Theodore, Alabama.
-Artist Ainsley McNeely is a native of Mobile and exhibits her work in Island Heritage and Art Gallery on Dauphin Island and numerous other galleries. Ainsley has drawn and painted all her life. Best known to the public for the series of colorful posters she designed for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, A.D.E.C.A. and others, her work can be seen in museums, galleries, private & corporate collections in North America, Europe, and Australia. Ainsley’s wildlife paintings, sporting art, portraits, figure work and miniatures appear in shows throughout the U.S., winning awards in many competitions including the World Wildlife Art Festival, The Art Show at the Dog Show, The Grand National Art Contest, The Miniature Art Society of Florida Show, The Miniature Painters, Sculptors, & Gravers Society of Washington D.C. Show, The Alabama Flora & Fauna Art Show, the Louisiana Wildfowl Festival, and the Watercolor & Graphic Arts Society Show. She also designed the 2001-2002 Alabama Duck Stamp, is president of the Alabama Miniature Art Society and was inducted into the UMS-Wright Hall of Fame for Fine Arts.

According to authorities, a man suspected of firing a shot that missed a 6-year-old and 8-year-old sitting in the backseat of a car Saturday, November 30, has been arrested.
