MOBILE, Ala. - First Toyota, now a German car maker announces plans to make a car that drives itself.
Daimler AG is testing a self-driving version of its Mercedes-Benz. The car has six radar sensors in the bumpers. It also has cameras to help detect objects. Daimler AG says the goal is to roll out the car by 2020.
Motorola opened the first US smart phone plant in Forth Worth, Texas on Tuesday. Workers will produce its new flagship device, Moto-X. Although the phone will be built here in the US most of the parts used to assemble the device are manufactured overseas. Assembly accounts for relatively little of the cost of a smart phone. The cost largely lies in the chips, battery and display most of which come from Asian factories.
Short videos are evermore popular thanks to Vine and Instagram, and an upcoming new app will let you send your short videos in the form of a video greeting card. It's called "Vello". With it, one or more people can create videos up to six-seconds long each . The app then strings each video together, to make one long message and delivers it via email. And, only if you want, you can attach a gift card with your greeting. Each person included in making the video can contribute too.
