MOBILE, Alabama (WALA) - The Mobile BayBears are the new Southern League Champions and they have the trophy to prove it. Mike Callahan, Assistant General Manager of the Baybears stopped by the Fox10 Studio's early Monday morning, minutes after getting off the bus, to show us the prize.

The Baybears six to four win over the Tennessee Smokies Sunday earned them the title of Southern League Champions Sunday night.
The Smokies put the first run on the board in the first inning.
During the second inning, the Baybears put up their first two runs of the game. They added another four runs during the sixth inning.
The Smokies tried to rally in the seventh inning, but only managed to put up three runs.
FOX10 News spoke with Mike Callahan with the BayBears. He said the team was celebrating, and it was hard to hear much else than their cheers in the locker room.
This is the BayBears first title since 2004, and the third in franchise history.
