SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) - A 90-year-old man has completed his trip from Louisville to Siesta Key on a recumbent tricycle.
The Sarasota Herald Tribune (http://bit.ly/1dyW6UF ) reports Bert Blevens rode 930 miles from Kentucky through Tennessee, Georgia and Florida on the reclined trike.
He did it all riding through back roads, side streets and parking lots because bikes like his aren't allowed on interstate highways.
The journey toke 21 days and Blevens was escorted first by his son and then his daughter.
Along the way, he passed through small towns, did interviews on local television and stopped to take photos with bystanders. He was greeted by a party of family and friends who sprayed him with champagne when he arrived in Siesta Key. He said he felt great.
