After weather cancels Mobile’s St. Patrick’s Day parade, ‘unofficial’ parade takes to streets
UPDATE: Despite the threat of severe weather, hundreds gathered in Cathedral Square for an unofficial St. Patrick’s Day parade after the official parade was canceled due toe weather just hours before it was scheduled to start. Despite the cancellation, diehards decided to parade anyway. People were able to catch throws like beads, pillows and flowers. Most say they’re glad they made the decision to come out.
Will Edmonds said, “Good day to be out despite the looming bad weather. Students from Barton academy had a chance to come out and check out the St. Patrick’s Day fun and have a great time.”
The parade only lasted 10 minutes, but it was enough to get everyone in the St. Patrick’s Day mood.
