MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Studio 10 continues to highlight local non-profits doing good in the community. This week, we are featuring Fostering Together Gulf Coast, which helps children in foster care in the area.

“Fostering Together Gulf Coast exists to serve the foster care community,” executive director Rachel Webb said. “So, we help tangible needs that children have when they first come into foster care, as well as to really wrap around foster families to help support them in their journey as they care for these children.”

Fostering Together Gulf Coast hold a few events throughout the year to help children in the community and in foster care.

“We just kind of went through the Christmas season and were able to serve over 400 kids, getting them toys and all things that we all maybe sometimes take for granted,” president of the board Michael Schultz said. “For them is a huge special event and it takes a whole community of people to make that happen with donations and volunteers to get them out and then obviously the wonderful families that come in and get to do it.”

‘We help to provide easter baskets for children in foster and adoptive families and so we look for sponsors and the community to either make an easter basket and bring it to us or they can help financially and last year we provided over 300 easter baskets for kids in our community and foster homes,” Webb said.
