Doing Good: Ballin' on Belrose
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Ballin’ on Belrose is back! Join us on Saturday, May 18th at 8AM to see if you can Conquer the Climb!
Ballin’ on Belrose is a community walk/run event on Belrose Avenue in Olde Towne Daphne, between Main Street and Mobile Bay. The race consists of 11 trips up the Belrose Ave. hill which equals the height of Mt. Everest (5.5 miles uphill and 10.5 miles total). You can climb the hill just once or all 11 times to complete the challenge – it’s all about showing up and having fun! The end of the race culminates in a community block party with DJs, food and drinks, a kids’ play area with inflatables, face painting, photo ops and more.
Named “Ballin’” for the Baller Dream Foundation, the event aims to raise funds to support the foundation’s efforts in supporting, comforting, and offering once-in-a-lifetime experiences to lift the spirits of children and young adults battling cancer.
This year we’ll giving an additional $10,000 to a Baldwin County-based nonprofit. We’re challenging all local nonprofits to bring as many supporters as possible to compete and the nonprofit with the most completed laps uphill will win $10k to support their mission!
Bring your family and friends on Saturday, May 18th to have a great time, enjoy our wonderful community and support the incredible nonprofits that give back so much to our neighbors when they need it most.
