Sources: Jerry Carl highly likely to enter congressional race

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Sources close to Jerry Carl say he is highly likely to enter an upcoming congressional race.

Rep. Barry Moore currently represents Congressional District 1 and defeated Jerry Carl last year in a race that featured two incumbents.

This followed re-districting of the seats.

However, Senator Tommy Tuberville has announced he is running for Governor, which would leave his Senate seat open.

Moore posted a tweet earlier in July saying he would make a big announcement next month.

He didn’t say if he would run for the Senate seat, but, if he does, that would leave the Congressional District 1 seat vacant, and Carl could run for that seat.
