The White Flag Movement’s National Ceasefire Day

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - On October 5th, 2025, the White Flag Movement will host its 10-Year Anniversary and National Ceasefire Day event at Duval Park (1 PM – 5 PM). The event will feature live performances, food, and community programming focused on unity and peace.

The Mobile City Council proudly presented a proclamation recognizing October 6, 2025, as National Ceasefire Day in the City of Mobile. This designation calls for collective reflection, unity, and action to curb gun violence, particularly among youth, while uplifting the voices of those working daily to bring peace and healing to our neighborhoods.

The proclamation also highlighted the work of the White Flag Movement, whose mission is to dismantle generational and cultural stereotypes, foster safer communities, and equip citizens with life-saving tools and conflict resolution strategies. Over the last decade, our leadership has inspired recognition not only in Mobile but across the nation, helping launch and support community-based organizations dedicated to peace and systemic change.
