MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - In recognition of national Domestic Violence Awareness Month, FavorHouse is holding their Take Action to End Domestic Violence Campaign, with a Be the Light luncheon to help spread awareness.

One of the busiest times of the year for engaging the community in the effort to end domestic violence. During this time, FavorHouse staff and volunteers partner with organizations and individuals to spread awareness about DV and its impact on families and our community. This includes participating in various community events such as a 5K at University of West Florida, the Carla Williams Remembrance Walk at Pensacola State College, DVAM Proclamation ceremonies at the Naval Air Station Whiting Field and Naval Air Station Pensacola, workplace specific trainings, and more.

Be the Light Luncheon –

FavorHouse Board of Directors hosting a luncheon at the Pensacola Country Club on October 16th 11:30-1:00 p.m. Guests will learn more about the widespread impact of domestic violence on not only the families who are experiencing it but the community as a whole. Guests will leave with the resources they need to “be the light” for someone who is experiencing the darkness and trauma of abuse. RSVPs can be made by emailing info@favorhouse.org.
