Amazon is hiring 250,000 people for the holiday season

(CNN) - Amazon announced it is hiring 250,000 people for the holiday season.

The job openings include regular, full-time, part-time and seasonal jobs for Amazon’s fulfillment and transportation network across the United States.

Amazon said the regular and part-time workers earn an average of $23 an hour, along with benefits. Seasonal employees earn an average of more than $19 an hour.

The jobs will be posted through December on Amazon’s job page.

Amazon also said it is investing more than $1 billion into additional pay and benefits for its fulfillment and transportation workers.

It says that will bring the average total compensation to more than $30 an hour, when including the value of benefits.
