Celebrating “Neighborsgiving” this holiday season

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - We’re all looking for ways to feel more connected, especially during the holidays, and as it turns out, something as simple as sharing food may be the secret to togetherness. Bob’s Red Mill is inspiring ‘Moregetherness’ (“More” + “Togetherness”), turning wholesome food into a reason for neighbors to gather, connect, and celebrate community.

Ben & Erin Napier, co-hosts of HGTV’s Home Town, shared how they’ve built strong community ties in their own hometown of Laurel, Mississippi — one homemade dish at a time. From cookie swaps to spontaneous doorstep drop-offs, the Napiers show how food can spark real connection between neighbors.

This year, the Napiers are teaming up with Bob’s Red Mill to celebrate “Neighborsgiving,” a fresh take on the Friendsgiving tradition that inspires people to bring neighbors together through food. It’s all part of Bob’s Red Mill’s Moregetherness™ movement, a multi-year effort that starts with helping people connect right where they live.

A recent survey by Bob’s Red Mill found that over half of Americans (54%) have baked or made food to share with their neighbors, and 55% have had a neighbor do the same. Those who share food most often also report feeling the least lonely — and the most connected — in their communities.
