Auburn Tigers wrap up Senior Bowl practice with NFL dreams in sight
Jeremiah Wright and Keyron Crawford showcase skills ahead of Saturday’s game
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The final day of practice at the Panini Senior Bowl is complete, and two Auburn Tigers used the opportunity to put everything on tape before the NFL Draft.
Offensive lineman Jeremiah Wright and edge rusher Keyron Crawford both took advantage of the opportunity during a week where every rep, every interview and every snap matters for college stars looking to reach the next level.
Wright brings physicality to the trenches
At six foot five and 340 pounds, Wright made his mark in the trenches, showing NFL scouts the physicality he prides himself on.
“Just the physicality in my game, the run game, just being able to move people off the ball… and in the pass game, just showing that I can pass protect… and when the team need me in clutch moments and two-minute drills… you can count on me,” Wright said.
For Wright, this week was about more than football. The Selma, Alabama native says making it to the NFL would mean representing his hometown and showing kids back home what’s possible.
“It would just mean a lot for me… just to be able to show everybody back at home… being that light and showing the kids back at home there’s more… you can go out there and compete, put on for your hometown… whatever you put your mind to, you can do it,” Wright said.
Crawford showcases growth and determination
Edge rusher Keyron Crawford used the week to show both his game and his growth. From practice to interviews, Crawford says he made the most of every moment.
“I’m proud of it. I’m excited. I felt like I put out a good outcome far as this week… the interviews with the coaches and just translating it to the field,” Crawford said.
For Crawford, just being at the Senior Bowl is something he doesn’t take for granted. The chance to increase his draft stock and make it to the league means everything.
“It’s once in a lifetime. I didn’t have too many opportunities just in my life… and making the most of this opportunity and getting to showcase who I am… it’s a dream come true,” Crawford said.
With the Senior Bowl game just days away, Wright and Crawford are hoping this week was only the beginning of their NFL dreams. The Panini Senior Bowl kicks off from Hancock Whitney Stadium at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday as both players look to take their next step toward the NFL.
