South Alabama men’s basketball accepts NIT invitation after conference tournament loss

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - After losing to Georgia Southern in the fourth round of the conference tournament, South Alabama men’s basketball is the first team to accept an invitation to the 88th National Invitation Tournament.

The automatic berth comes from a prior agreement between the NIT board of managers and South Alabama after the team was left out of the NIT field last year.

The Jags finished the season 22-11.
