NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV/Gray News) - Tennessee police are investigating a shooting that led to a series of events earlier this week that included a person jumping out of an ambulance.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, things started Friday afternoon when officers responded to a shooting in Bordeaux, where the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the face.

Both involved in the shooting left the scene in their own vehicles, but the victim later crashed. Crews with the Nashville Fire Department were dispatched unaware that the driver was a victim of the shooting.

Authorities said an ambulance picked up the injured man, but he ended up jumping out of the emergency vehicle and then attempted to carjack someone.

Officers were called to this scene and took the man into custody after they said he attempted to fight them.

The victim-turned-carjacker was taken to Skyline Hospital for treatment. Authorities said the shooter involved in the initial call was also taken into custody.
