Former NFL quarterback Tony Romo arrested on drunken driving charge
MILWAUKEE (Gray News) - Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was arrested in Milwaukee on suspicion of operating a vehicle while under the influence.
According to the arrest report, Romo, 46, was stopped by a Milwaukee County sheriff’s deputy Thursday night while driving southbound on I-43.

During the stop, Romo was asked to perform field sobriety tests. The deputy wrote that Romo performed poorly and he was taken into custody.
Romo was charged with operating while intoxicated (OWI), his first offense. He was later released.
His court date is set for Sept. 21.
According to WISN, a first-offense OWI is generally a civil, not a criminal, offense that carries a fine of $150 to $300.
Romo started his NFL career in 2004. He played for 13 seasons, all for the Dallas Cowboys. He made four Pro Bowl appearances and remains the franchise’s career leader in touchdown passes with 248, according to ESPN.
He has been the lead game analyst for CBS’s NFL coverage since 2017. ESPN said CBS has not commented on his arrest.
