MFRD battles house fire on Garrity Street

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 900 block of Garrity Street shortly after 11 a.m. today.

Mobile Fire-Rescue Department crews arrived to find flames and heavy smoke coming from a single-story residential structure.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze without further incident. No injuries were reported.

Hot temperatures added to the challenge as crews battled the fire both inside the home and in the heat of the sun.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
